US Marine Corps - .Net Web Application

Term: Ongoing (current version is 1.3)
Challenge: Offer a way for job applicants to find and then apply for jobs online which are available to the public and which are offered by the US Marine Corps.
Technology Used:  .Net Framework 2.0, C#, ASP.NET, ADO.Net, and SQL Server 2007.
Requirements Met:

  • Job application which faces applicants conforms to strict guidelines as set forth by the Department of Defense
  • Job applicant can create a profile which is stored in a SQL database and which can be edited by job applicant and by Marine Corp personnel
  • Job listings are created and posted using a backend site only accessible by Marine Corp personnel
  • Job applications are viewed and printed using a backend site only accessible by Marine Corp personnel
  • Job applicant background check form may be printed
  • Job applicants may login using their account information and apply for multiple jobs
  • Mousovers used to display detailed information and stats
  • Icons used to provide mousover points and to save row space
  • Popup calendars used for date entry
  • Strict validation used for data entry
  • Multi-step data capture used for preserving applicants progress in multi-page application
  • Dynamic real-time password strength meter used for choosing strong passwords
